Most people check ingredients before buying food. But when it comes to clothes, we barely look at the label.
A huge percentage of modern clothing contains synthetic fabrics like polyester — essentially plastic.
We started Wormfood with one simple idea: What if people read fabric labels the way they read food labels?
Because what you wear every day should feel good, breathe well, and be something you actually understand.
Meet the Founders
Rohit Srivastava
Co-founder / B.A.LLB (HNLU, Raipur), MBA
He is deeply concerned about how much polyester people casually wear every day. After years of studying consumers and brands, Rohit decided to start where most outfits actually begin: bottomwear. Wormfood was built to create comfortable, personality-filled pants without the usual “premium fashion” nonsense — while questioning the industry’s obsession with polyester-heavy clothing and microplastics.
Abhilash Mittal
Co-founder / B. Tech. (IIT Kanpur), ex Deel
He has spent the past decade building software systems as a backend engineer, but over time became increasingly concerned by how casually synthetic, plastic-heavy clothing has become part of everyday life. After years in tech and constant exposure to fast-consumption culture, he started questioning why people carefully read food labels, yet rarely think about the fabrics they wear for 12–14 hours a day. Wormfood began with a simple goal: create comfortable, well-designed everyday clothing that feels personal and expressive — without relying on polyester-heavy blends that dominate modern fashion. The brand is rooted in a long-term commitment to sustainability, material awareness, and reducing dependence on plastic-based textiles.
